Description

Privacy is not only a fundamental value that merits protection, but a condition for the free flow of personal data across organisations and borders, and with it data-driven innovation, economic growth and societal well-being. This indicator measures the share of Internet users who experienced online privacy violations. Privacy violations refer to the abuse of personal information that has been sent via the Internet and/or other violations such as the abuse of pictures, videos or personal data uploaded onto community websites. It provides one measure of trust in the Internet.
