Description

As our activities increasingly move online, safety in digital environments becomes more important. Online safety refers to policies, practices and procedures that aim to prevent, reduce and counter certain harms that people can experience online or that are facilitated by the Internet. It includes safeguarding children in digital environments and ensuring that older adults can effectively use digital technologies and participate in a highly digital economy and society. Online safety also involves addressing the mental health risks associated with online spaces, as well as freedom from the negative effects of illegal and harmful content online such as false and misleading information.
