Description
Young firms drive productivity-enhancing reallocation as resources flow from inefficient laggards to smaller, dynamic firms. They also drive digital innovation because they play an important role in commercialising new technologies. This indicator measures start-ups up to two years old (i.e. newly born enterprises as well as those that are one and two years old) in information industries as a share of the total number of employer enterprises (see notes). It provides a measure of business dynamism.
