Kilograms (Kg) of e-waste generated in a given year, as estimated by the Global E-waste Monitor, per inhabitant. This indicator provides one indication of the environmental impacts of ICT production and consumption. E-waste refers to all items of electrical and electronic equipment that have been discarded as waste without the intent of re-use. It includes cooling and freezing equipment, screens and monitors, lamps, large equipment (e.g. washing machines and solar panels), small equipment (e.g. vacuum cleaners, microwaves and electronic toys), and small IT and telecommunications equipment (e.g. mobile phones, personal computers and printers).
