Description
False and misleading content online contributes to political polarisation, reduces trust in democratic institutions, and negatively impacts fundamental human rights. The Internet has become the primary conduit for spreading false and misleading content quickly and at scale. This indicator measures the ability of adults to identify the veracity of content online. It reflects the skills acquired to thrive in a democratic and highly digital society. Ability is measured based on scores from the OECD Truth Quest survey (see notes).
